A message from our president.

On behalf of the Executive Board, it is an honor to represent the career firefighters and fire officers of IAFF Local 3874. Our members serve communities throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties with professionalism, courage, and an unwavering commitment to public safety. Leading this Local means ensuring that commitment is met with strong, disciplined advocacy on their behalf.

Our mission is clear: protect the people who protect our communities. We focus on the standards that allow firefighters to do their jobs safely and effectively—responsible staffing, excellent training, reliable equipment, fair working conditions, and comprehensive support for physical and behavioral health. These are not only labor priorities; they are essential public-safety priorities.

That responsibility extends across a member’s entire career and to the families who support them. We advocate at the bargaining table, through the legislative process, and whenever a member faces injury, illness, occupational exposure, or loss. In the most difficult moments, Local 3874 will stand with our members and their families—with respect, resolve, and for as long as we are needed.

OUR PEOPLE FIRST is more than a statement. It is the standard that guides our decisions. When firefighters are protected, prepared, and supported, departments are stronger and communities are safer.

We also understand that public trust must be earned every day. Through emergency response, public education, charitable work, and community partnerships, our members demonstrate the integrity, accountability, and service that define this Local.

Looking ahead, we will continue strengthening our organization, advancing the fire service, and building constructive relationships with public officials, labor partners, and community leaders. We will lead with facts, act with discipline, and remain united in our commitment to our members and the public.
