Millstone Captain Returns to Work

IAFF Local 3874 welcomes Captain Nicholas Krauss back to duty with Millstone Township’s D Platoon following a line-of-duty injury sustained at a residential fire in July.

IAFF Local 3874 is proud to welcome Captain Nicholas Krauss back to work with the Millstone Township Shop. Krauss, a Millstone Shop member and the captain assigned to Millstone’s D Platoon, returned for his first shift after being injured in the line of duty while operating at a residential fire in July.

Local 3874 provided initial information about the July response and member care in its July 30 press release. The release reported that five Local 3874 members were transported for medical treatment following a July 29 residential structure fire in Upper Freehold Township. Three members were taken to area hospitals for heat-related injuries, while two were transported to The Burn Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston for burns.

In addition to supervising D Platoon, Krauss serves as the Millstone Township Fire Official. In that role, he oversees commercial fire inspections, conducts fire investigations, and manages residential smoke and carbon monoxide inspections associated with property resales.
